'Ghost Hunters: Season 6: Part 1'
(Grant Wilson, Jason Hawes, et al / 3-Disc DVD / NR / (2010) 2011 / BIG VISION)

Overview: The TAPS gang is back in action. Celebrate a milestone as America’s favorite paranormal investigators, the Ghost Hunters, kick off their triumphant sixth season with their live 100th episode.

DVD Verdict: For those not in the know, 'Ghost Hunters' is an American paranormal reality television series that premiered way back in 2004 on Syfy (previously the Sci Fi Channel). The program features paranormal investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson who investigate places that are reported to be haunted.

Indeed, the two originally worked as plumbers for Roto-Rooter as a day job while investigating locations at night. Since the show's success, the series now takes precedence in their lives, but they are still honorary employees with the company and continue to do jobs for them if time permits!

Throughout the series, Hawes and Wilson, along with other team members who belong to the group they founded, The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), investigate locations of interest by using various electronic equipment, which they believe is capable of detecting paranormal activity.

In this sixth season, albeit annoingly (monetarily) split up into two (2) "parts," some great investigations come forth. Such as the season premeire at Alcatraz, the Philadelphia Zoo and the Otesaga Hotel in New York. For my money though, the Norwich State Hospital episode is another great one to watch. Very, very creepy!

Towards the end of this 12 episode set Steve and Dave Tango are not in some of the episodes as they had their own show at the time called Ghost Hunters Academy. Overall a great series, the split into "parts" is wrong to do for the fans, given that there's three (3) discs here with just 12 episodes included! This is a Widescreen presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the episodes: Ghost Hunters Alcatraz Live, Fort Ticonderoga, Shamrock Spirits, Phantoms of Jersey, Touched by Evil, Haunted Reform School, Ghosts in the Attic, Inn of the Dead, Spirits of the Night, Norwich State, Haunted Hotel, and America's First Zoo.
