'Johnny Bravo: Season One'
(Jeff Bennett, Mae Whitman, Tom Kenny, Larry Drake, Brenda Vaccaro, et al / 2-DVD / NR / 2010 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: Animation fans will want to join Johnny Bravo, the dim-witted, girl-chasing, muscle-flexing, sunglasses-wearing, clown-hating, mama-loving pretty boy as he karate-chops his way through 13 outrageous episodes of action-packed antics that’ll rock your world!

DVD: This series (along with other former CTN greats such as Dexter's Lab) should have come out a long time ago. Johnny Bravo was part of the golden age of CTN (back when they still had toonami and showed things like reboot). A very good cartoon that ecompasses modern and old school style humor. Like a lot of good cartoons though it went south towards the end of its time. For the most part though it's all around good fun for the kids with some jokes adults can apperciate too.

Guest appearances from Scooby-Doo and the Mystery, Inc. gang along with celebrities like Farrah Fawcett, Adam West and Donny Osmond, with illustration and scripts by Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, boost this two-disc collection to hubba-hubba status. Play it cool, like Johnny would, and play this heaping helping of pure Bravo! In truth, the show is a pretty silly one without any real lessons to learn and just a lot of fun watching Johnny try to be a ladies' man ... and always getting beaten up by them eventually! None the less, it's still a great find for fans of Hanna Barbara animation. Hilarious pop-culture references include spoofs of Schoolhouse Rock, The Wizard of Oz, The Jungle Book and Dr. Seuss! This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

Bringing Up Bravo – Series documentary that will allow viewers to explore the beginnings, middles, endings, and everything in between of Johnny Bravo
Audio Commentary – With Van Partible, Jeff Bennett, and Seth MacFarlane
Johnny Bravo Original Pencil Tests – Introduced by Van Partible, featured are some of the original pencil tests used in the production process
Seth McFarlane Audio Track – Listen to Seth MacFarlane lay down an entire temp track on his own well before he would become known for his hit show Family Guy
