'Wild Kratts: Shark-Tastic!'
(Martin Kratt, Chris Kratt / DVD / NR / 2015 / PBS Kids!)

Overview: Martin Kratt and Chris Kratt are studying the secrets of great white sharks while their nemesis, Chef Gaston Gourmand, is looking for ingredients for his shark fin soup recipe!

DVD Verdict: For those not in the know, Chris and Martin Kratt are brothers (in real life!) who explore the wild throughout the world to learn more about animals and share conservation information. They have three friends who travel in the Tortuga HQ with them named Aviva, Koki and Jimmy Z.

The brothers have creature power suits that allow them to experience what it's like to be the animals they find. The team helps them by creating power suit creature disks for each animal they study. They also bring them supplies and help them out of tricky situations when their adventures get dicey.

In 'Wild Kratts: Shark-Tastic!', whilst Chef Gaston Gourmand is looking for ingredients for his shark fin soup recipe, Martin knocks the Creature Power Suits into a deep Arctic trench. So, the brothers search for them in the brand-new Octopod submarine where they witness a Pacific octopus' defense against an attacking shark. Then Aviva takes the lead when she wants to upgrade the Tortuga with swimming capabilities, so the Kratt brothers seek out a sea turtle for inspiration.

Finally, the Wild Kratts team is on a mission to decode the secret language of dolphins using one of Aviva's new inventions, but a hungry great white shark puts their animal friends in harm's way.

In short, 'Wild Kratts' is a great cartoon adventure show for kids where they can learn about new animals and why conservation is so important to the world, not just them. Also, we get to learn fun facts, straight from the box cover art work, in this case: How many teeth can a great white shark lose in its lifetime? The answer is a mind-blowing "more than a thousand" in its lifetime! That's a LOT of teeth, boys and girls. A LOT of teeth! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the four (4) Wild Adventures of: Octopus Wildkratticus, Tortuga Tune Up, and the bonus episodes, Speaking Dolpinese and Stuck on Sharks.
