Overview: When a ghoul begins to terrorize an amusement park, the Mystery Inc. gang come head to head with the legendary rock group, KISS, who claim they're also there to solve the mystery. Now the two groups must learn to work together as the clues lead them on a cosmic journey to another dimension.
Blu ray Verdict: We join the Gang at Kiss World - the all-things-Kiss theme park, as they investigate a series of strange hauntings. With help from Kiss, they discover that the Crimson Witch has returned to summon The Destroyer from the alternate dimension of Kissteria! The evil duos ghastly plan, to destroy the earth! Can the Gang's cunning and Kiss's power of rock save the day?!
Well, that's the big questions, as always, isn't it, but here in 'Scooby-Doo! & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery' it's much more about the actual REAL members of Kiss voicing their own characters (as a devoted fan, such as myself) than the action unfolding around them; it has to be said! That said, it really is great to see the Warner Bros. production team behind these Scooby-Doo! animated one-off's find yet another a worthy project to keep the franchise alive for us all.
And so here in 'Scooby-Doo! & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery,' Kiss come alive with their usual blend of explosions of color, comic book fantasy, Halloween masks, amusement park lights, pinball magic and so much more. Sure the story is somewhat "off the wall" and "left of center," but come on now it also includes a talking dog! Anyway, to my mind, the union of Scooby-Doo! and Kiss is one that should have happened a long time ago, so this storyline fits perfectly into a brand new Scooby-Doo! mystery. So come on in and tune into this most excellent Rock and Roll Mystery for some thunderous, heavy FUN!
