'Duck Dynasty: Season 8'
(The Robertsons / 2-Disc DVD / NR / 2015 / Lionsgate)

Overview: America's most recognizable family is back for Season 8, and their Duck Dynasty is bigger then ever!

DVD Verdict: Did you know that the Robertsons started out by producing a series of hunting videos. They then got their own series on the Outdoor Channel called, "Benelli Presents Duck Commander." They made a highlight reel and sent it to other networks. A&E was interested and ordered two episodes. They liked what they saw and continued to order more.

And then came, of course ... 'Duck Dynasty'! As they say on the show, authenticity is as rare as duck's teeth, and worth its weight in gold! Season 7's finale, entitled “Sweet Home Louisiana,” allowed the DD fans to see more of Jep and Jessica and even presented a block party welcoming them to their neighborhood. In addition, Jep underwent a frightening health crisis and, naturally, his family were right there alongside of him the whole time.

Season 8, which for the longest time - due to a scandal involving a certain older member of the clan - was in the balance to begin with, takes us into summer, and for the Robertsons that means more pranks, parties, and, for Korie, planning John Luke's big wedding! While the guys are busy bowling, golfing, and goofing, Korie finds shopping for engagement presents not so easy with Si and Kay along for the ride! As Jase and the gang attempt to work as a NASCAR put crew, Korie and Willie take to the courts challenging John Luke and his fiancee, Mary Kate, to a doubles tennis match. And believe me, that ain't all that happens here in this crazy-ass eighth season of the hit TV show!

As for whether or not that this could now actually be the very last season of DD, well, Alan Robertson himself indicated a while back that the family had signed a contract that would keep the show going through 2015 - and this eighth season herein. Indeed, Alan, the family’s oldest son, said that the family had fully committed to doing the show through this eighth season, though after that they didn't know.

Just how long can the show keep going? There have been some tough negotiations with the family over the past few seasons, but at least for now, you can settle in and watch this eighth, and possible last season, from the comfort of your very own arm chair. And so, on that note, thank you Robertson clan for sharing with us all these years. This series is an inspiration to kick back and worry less about life, for sure. Enjoy, one and all. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and includes Special Features (such as Deleted Scenes) never-before-seen on TV!
