'Heaven & Hell: Radio City Music Hall - Live!'
(Heaven & Hell / Blu ray / NR / 2011 / Eagle Records)

Overview: 'Radio City Music Hall - Live!' was filmed at the iconic New York venue on March 30, 2007. It was the first US concert by the Dio / Iommi / Butler/ Appice line-up for over 15 years and formed part of Heaven & Hell's 2007 world tour.

DVD Verdict: Well, as you all should know by now, 'Heaven & Hell: Radio City Music Hall - Live!' is a sweet-ass release, one that brings back floods of memories of the tour, BUT is (with that regard) also VERY bittersweet :-(

A constant reminder that we lost one of the all-time greatest rock vocalists of ALL TIME, 'Heaven & Hell: Radio City Music Hall - Live!' showcases just how the success of this tour further led to the continued existence of Heaven & Hell in general.

And yes, it is a monkey of a show; such a terrific show that (if you're a fan of all-out rock, sung by a true champion of the cause), I guarantee you will be blown away by! There are songs from the first three Sabbath Mk. II albums, Heaven & Hell, The Mob Rules, and Dehumanizer, along with some new tracks from the Dio Years compilation.

Indeed, this is a pretty long set-list and it doesn't disappoint. You get the expected hits like 'Neon Nights' and 'Mob Rules,' but for every one of those tracks you get a rarely played classic like 'Sign of the Southern Cross' or 'Lonely is the Word.'

And here on this brand new first-time-to-Blu ray release, luckily (as expected, actually) the quality of said Blu-ray is exquisite. That said, originally being filmed in HD did aid the process, I'm sure, but we true fans definitely wanted this to shine - and shine, well, it truly does. Originally released only on DVD (by Rhino in North America), this new Blu ray is all the best that Eagle Rock Entertainment does - quality, quality, and just more quality.

The entire performance is now our in the stores with the additional bonus material being:

Road Movie – the film contains raw footage from various rehearsals, the tour, and short comments by Ronnie, Tony, Geezer, Vinnie, and members of the tech crew. In English, with optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. (20 mins)

Meet the Mob – a look at various very excited fans who are getting ready to see their idols. In English, with optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. (4 mins)

It's said that there were upcoming Heaven & Hell plans that were only curtailed by the sad death of Ronnie James Dio. That is a great shame as I could listen to this band play all day and all night. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
