'Power Rangers Megaforce: The Complete Season'
(Andrew Gray, John Mark Loudermilk, Ciara Hanna, Azim Rizk, Christina Masterson, et al / 5-Disc DVD / NR / 2016 / LGF)

Overview: When the evil Warstar aliens plot a massive invasion of our planet, Earth's supernatural guardian, Gosel, mobilizes a team of five extraordinary teens with the talent and attidtude to oppose them. The Complete Season of 'Power Rangers: Megaforce' is now available with over 7 hours of content on 5 discs!

DVD Verdict: I have to fully admit that I've been awaiting this complete season of 'Power Rangers: Megaforce' (and not to be confused with the "Super Megaforce" new Box-Set that has also just been release - although they are just as great as each other, of course!) all being housed together for rather a long time now! With all-new adventures, the franchise expanded well and brought us five new tales to tell, each with four or more episodes per story line to enthrall us fans.

Sure, in general, the 'Power Rangers: Megaforce' series is mostly about frenzied kick action, preposterous moments and other such nonsense. But 'Power Rangers: Megaforce' slightly changed the rules of the old series and upgraded their look to include some polished effects, costumes, fights, acting, and most importantly, writing.

Indeed, it's the writing that takes the cake as it implements a lesson/theme into each episode while simultaneously giving character development with an actual plot of how a small group of teenagers need to defend Earth from evil aliens (thanks to the costumes the villains are definitely menacing rather than ridiculous).

'Power Rangers: Megaforce' showcases disciplined, serious, yet caring characters, and especially go out of their way to highlight how they deeply care about the world and all within it. Relating the should-be-known-by-all fact that there is always a way for everyone to work together, all in all this is one that both fans, and perhaps non-fans (including reluctant parents!) can enjoy; ranking, in my humble opinion, alongside the veins of the underrated Lightspeed Rescue.

This set comes with all 20 episodes of the complete season. The packaging is done well and the discs artwork is great. The menu is also nicely presented, with the only problem being the menu music loops in odd places (well, it seems to for me, at least).

So come one, one and all, and dive into the epic battle as the Rangers begin their fight against the evil Warstar. Come on now, give it a chance. Especially if you're an old fan of the show, have drifted away and might want to come back. Personally, OK, I've never really liked everything that Jonathan Tzachor did (that second PR movie was a low point), but hey, without him there would be no PR!
