'Grey's Anatomy: Complete Twelfth Season'
(Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Sara Ramirez, et al / 6-Disc DVD / PG / 2016 / ABC Studios)

Overview: Sometimes the life you need to save is your own -- especially after a shattering loss, when the bonds of friendship and love at Grey Sloan Memorial are tested like never before. Experience the passion, the drama and every heart-stopping moment with ABC's 'GREY'S ANATOMY: COMPLETE TWELFTH SEASON'.

DVD Verdict: Well, I do so love me some 'Grey's Anatomy', it has to be said. A lot of watchers do not have any kind of TV programming, so they watch movies or DVD series like this. It's great. Plain and simple. I realize that some think of these serial programs as night time "soaps", but I don't view them as such. I love the characters and the stories.

Indeed, while some are better than others, what series does not have it's up's and down. I know that some years, the series will end and I surely want to see the final episode when it comes. I consider 'Grey's Anatomy' to be a cross between a medical drama and a soap opera - but I find it very entertaining to watch.

As for this twelfth season, well, sure it was the least traumatic finale in 'Grey's Anatomy' history, but that's just fine. Hey, I'm not necessarily complaining, for it is actually rather nice when none of your favorite television characters die! But, I mean, isn't it a wee bit too hard to get a proper sense of closure on a season of 'Grey's' without a major catastrophe going down?!

Anyway, moving on and diving straight into this fact, my favorite episode of the 24-episode season was, without a shadow of a doubt, the "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" episode! Wow, it just made you literally feel the discomfort of all involved - although Pompeo was breathtakingly outstanding in the attack episode also, of course. It's sad that Sara Ramirez left this year, but I already can't wait for Season 13.

As always, 'Grey's' is chock full of amazing writing/acting which is why after everyone wrote this show off with the death of Derek in Season 11, that the show continues to lead ABC in the ratings of ALL their TV shows!

Containing a LOT of relationship to's and fro's, as mentioned above I look forward to seeing where everyone will be in Season 13 - especially Meredith. I mean, [SPOILER] will she keep things going with Riggs or will she end it for Maggie’s sake? I’m actually really rooting for Meredith so I hope she does what’s best for her, and not worry about Maggie. Although I do hope that Maggie can find a little romance for herself again.

Also, watching what happens between April and Jackson will also be a highlight. Will co-parenting turn into romance or will they stay strictly friends? Surely almost loosing April will make him realize how much she means. And even with the continual fear that 'Grey's Anatomy' may be seeing its day with the possible last season (each passing season!), having these past episodes gives us all a chance to enjoy the talent of some great actors and wonderful writing that has kept us tied to Seattle Grace.

I was told by my anatomy and physiology instructor, watch as many medical shows as this to gain a better knowledge of the medical world, but I am sure and I hope, without all the sex put in to keep you interested. I will miss this show (if and when), but I am so thankful for what I have witnessed so far - and for the confirmation of a thirteenth 'Grey's Anatomy', of course.

And so, here in Season 12 you can once more relive the romance and excitement of ABC's unforgettable prime time drama with never-before-seen bonus features! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
