'Stonehenge Apocalypse'
(Misha Collins, Torri Higginson, Hill Harper, Peter Wingfield, et al / DVD / PG-13 / 2010 / Anchor Bay Entertainment)

Overview: When a disgraced scientist discovers unusual spikes in the Earth's electromagnetic field emanating from Stonehenge, it is up to him to warn the world of a possible apocalypse. As his claims are disregarded by his peers, the ancient structure begins to move independently, build up an electromagnetic charge and release enough energy to vaporize people within a certain radius. Can he convince the military and his peers of his findings before it is too late and all life on Earth is destroyed?

DVD Verdict: The Syfy channel debuted this new original movie back in June of last year and unlike other TV movies that feature a misunderstood hero, a strong female scientist, a soldier willing to break the rules, another soldier who simply wants to destroy what he doesn’t understand, and a crazy zealot bent on destroying the world, this movie was actually pretty easy on the eye, understandable, and, well, plain good!

Indeed, the central theme of the film is that prophetic words seem to come close to reality in 2012 after the discovery of a magnetic chamber. And sure, that's not anything newm but no matter how used the concept is, the delivery of 'Stonehenge Apocalypse' is marvelous.

Starring Misha Collins (from Supernatural, he plays the angel Castiel) for the first time in his very own SyFy tv movie leading role, he gets to hvae all manner of fun here! He gets to throw some verbal cheese around, yell at so-called scientists who don’t believe his theories, gets into all manner of fights, gets shot, and even, come the end, hangs out of car windows!

To give you a bit more plot, a conspiracy radio show host (and award winning physicist), Jacob, uncovers a series of magnetic disturbances AND learns that a group of tourists have been destroyed at Stonehenge. For him, this is a clear call to GO to Henge and uncover what is going on.

Around the world, magnetic vortices are exhibiting dangerous signs (volcanic erruptions, et al) and destroying Mexico, Malaysia, Egypt (Giza), and maybe Maine. His mission is now to stop the nuclear destruction of Stonehenge by a mad military leader before he can find the key to the disturbances and turn off the terra forming he suspects is going on! So, hang on tight as this is one mighty bumpy ride, folks! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
