'America the Beautiful: National Parks Collection'
(2-Disc Blu-ray / NR / 2018 / Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: The exquisite National Parks Exploration Series takes viewers on a guided tour across the most visited and significant parks in the United States.

Discover the wonder and mystery of these parks and enjoy over 12 hours of breathtaking beauty and exciting exploration of our country's most fascinating destinations!

Blu-ray Verdict: Featuring over 12 hours of our nation's greatest treasures, 'America The Beautiful: The Complete National Parks Collection' is spread out into a wondrous 10-part series that also comes with a delightful Bonus Documentary, National Parks: An Eagle's View.

In 1872 President Ulysses S. Grant signed into law our nation's first National Park, Yellowstone. The purpose was to preserve the breathtaking scenery and the wildlife within the historic landscape.

Since then, other significant pieces of land and sea have been designated as National Parks, in hopes to conserve the past and present glory of each unique ecosystem.

Now you can journey through the ecology, geology and beauty of our amber plains, rugged mountain ranges and salty shores in this spectacular collection of majestic beauty - like you have never seen before (especially that beautifully-cinematic bonus documentary that I just mentioned).

Watching this beautiful documentary, one shouldn't undertake the entire 13 hours viewing as a binge, of course, but you learn very interesting facts along the way, that's for sure.

Like, there are (currently) 58 National Parks in the United States, many of them unsung natural oases full of majestic beauty. And while the marquee parks—Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite—are well worth visiting, there are drawbacks, namely high admission prices and enormous crowds.

To name but a small handful, some of those under-valued on the tourist guide book trails are: Denali National Park and Preserve; Gates of the Arctic National Park; Glacier Bay National Park; Katmai National Park and Preserve; Kenai Fjords National Park; Kobuk Valley National Park; Lake Clark National Park; and even the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.

Watching along at the splendor of the cinematography, we also learn that the largest National Park is Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, AK, at 13.2 million acres and that the smallest is Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial, PA, at 0.02 acres.

Included in this fantastic collection are indepth reveals on such National Parks as The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Everglades, The Great Smoky Mountains, The Black Hills and The Badlands, etc. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Bonus Feature of the aforementioned National Parks: An Eagle's View Documentary.
