'Kinky'
(Vivica A. Fox, Robert Ri'Chard, Gary Dourdan, Dawn Richard, Darrin Dewitt Henson, et al / DVD / R / 2019 / MVD Visual)

Overview: Dr. Joyce Reynolds (Dawn Richard from the smash pop group DANITY KANE), a successful yet shy Atlanta surgeon, enjoys a secluded and single lifestyle.

After being set up on a date with billionaire Darrin Bernard (Robert Ri'chard, Coach Carter), Joyce immediately begins a whirlwind romance with the wealthy businessman and entrepreneur.

It isn't long before Joyce begins to explore her own sexual fantasies as Darren discovers Joyce's proclivities start to push the boundaries of pain and pleasure.

DVD Verdict: OK, well, as I have just sat through this 93 minutes along with my partner we can report back that, for the most part, 'Kinky' is one big hot mess of a film!

I mean, for a film entitled 'Kinky' - let alone the cover art - I truly thought this would be some form of 'Fifty Shades' endeavor. But, sadly, it was nothing of the kind and worse yet where the obvious storyline tried to go it just didn't have the nerve.

I mean, as soon as something begins to happen sexually between the two leads it cuts to the end of whatever they were supposed to be doing. Yes, I know this happens a lot in your average run of the mill films, but here on this straight-to-DVD affair, well, I expected a little more.

So, in a film entitled 'Kinky' there really is no so-called show and tell at all, but then when you watch all the way through in hope of a decent pay off and you get … well, I won't give it away, but man, what a massive let down.

In closing, again, I feel like this movie was going for the aforementioned 'Fifty Shades' vibe, but with the promise of a decent twist, but it missed all the important points that keep viewers tuned in. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
