'The Rolling Stones: Bridges To Bremen' [BR+2CD]
(The Rolling Stones / DVD+2CD / NR / 2019 / Eagle Vision)

Overview: 'Bridges To Bremen' is a full-length show performed by the Stones on the fifth and final leg of the Bridges To Babylon Tour.

Filmed at the German city's Weserstadion on September 2, 1998, the band had by then completed four legs in the stadiums and arenas of North America (twice), Asia and South America before finally landing in Europe early that summer.

Blu-ray Verdict: Ever the innovators, Bridges To Babylon was a tour of firsts - the first time the band went on the road with a permanent B-stage, and also the first time where fans could vote on the band's website for a track they wanted to hear at the show ("Memory Motel," in the case of the Bremen fans.

This concert film has been meticulously restored from the original masters, and the audio remixed and remastered from the live multitrack recordings and now also includes four (4) tracks from their Soldier Field performances in Chicago as bonus features!

As expected, whether or not you are a MASSIVE Stones fan such as myself or a causal bystander, this live show is chock full of two hours worth of Jagger and the boys exerting non-stop energy (well, save for Watts, as always, of course, bless him).

The close up camera work allows you to see Jagger and how he works / contorts his mouth and face into just the perfect shape to deliver his twangin' vocals along with actually seeing the glint of enjoying every second of life within the eyes of Richards.

I mean, from the off, and as soon as Richards delivers the iconic opening riffs of '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction,' the hairs began to stand up on my arm and I was not only transported back to the 1998 tour, but my eyes were genuinely transfixed on the crystal clear live show quality that Eagle Vision has brought forth for this release.

For me, the stand out moments here include tracks such as 'Out Of Control' from their touring Bridges to Babylon album. Starting quietly it soon ignites and allows for Richards to do his thing and for Jagger to prowl the stage like some demented tiger!

Inclusive of the Bremen fans-chosen 'Memory Motel' - from their 1976 album Black and Blue - and complete with Wood's guitar "wah-wah effect", it's a long not heard cut that features vocals from both Jagger and Richards.

The former as on song as ever, the latter as off note as ever, nevertheless the song is pure Stones dynamite sung live here tonight.

One of my favorite ever Stones songs is 'Start Me Up' which they do all kinds of justice to live here and add to that a highly commendable set of key changes between verse and chorus on 'Anybody Seen My Baby?' and, well, this is as complete a Stones show live as I think I might have ever witnessed.

DVD/CD Track Listing: 1. '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' 2. 'Let's Spend The Night Together' 3. 'Flip The Switch' 4. 'Gimme Shelter' 5. 'Anybody Seen My Baby?' 6. 'Paint It Black' 7. 'Saint Of Me' 8. 'Out Of Control' 9. 'Memory Motel' 10. 'Miss You' 11. 'Thief In The Night' 12. 'Wanna Hold You' 13. 'Its Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I Like It)' 14. 'You Got Me Rocking' 15. 'Like A Rolling Stone' 16. 'Sympathy For The Devil' 17. 'Tumbling Dice' 18. 'Honky Tonk Women' 19. 'Start Me Up' 20. 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' 21. 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' 22. 'Brown Sugar' + 4 Bonus Bridges To Chicago Performances [DVD only]: 1. 'Rock And A Hard Place' 2. 'Under My Thumb' 3. 'All About You' 4. 'Let It Bleed.'

This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.33:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the aforementioned two (2) Audio CD's of the show.

'The Rolling Stones: Bridges To Bremen' [BR+2CD] is out June 28th, 2019 via Eagle Vision.
