Giveaways!
Win The New CD From Jim Boggia 'Safe In Sound'!

Safe In Sound, in stores May 5th, could be the title of Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Jim Boggia’s life story, not just the name of his bluhammock music debut. As he often likes to explain, “I’ve been told that I was singing melodies before I started speaking words, and I started playing the guitar when I was five. I have no conception of a life before music.”

'Live the Proof,' the first song released to radio, pairs an inspirational, no-time-to-lose message with an impossible-to-resist chorus. 'Made Me So Happy,' which features guest vocalist Jill Sobule, is the kind of 2 and 1/2 minute pop rocker that sends you flying for the replay button, and Safe In Sound also includes a song co-written with Aimee Mann, plus an vocal appearance by Aimee on another track.

MC 5 guitarist Wayne Kramer also guest stars on the album and Jim managed to convince reclusive seventies pop legend Emitt Rhodes to add Beatle-esque background vocals to the lovely, happy-sad 'Let Me Believe (Evan’s Lament),' which Rhodes also co-wrote. Core musicians on the album include Pete Thomas from Elvis Costello and the Attractions/Imposters, Justin Meldal-Johnson from Beck's band and Butch from the eels.

If you would like to win one of these great new CDs, just answer this easy question: Growing up, Jim experimented with many types of music: bass, drums, guitars, glockenspiel, cellos, Mellotrons and Optigans ... but what EXACTLY is a Optigan?

Send me your answers and if you're correct you'll be in the running to win one one of these wonderful new CDs! Just send us an e:mail here before May 15th with your answer and the subject title 'JIM BOGGIA CD' to: exclusivemagazine@flash.net
