Win Receiving End of Sirens' New CD ... TODAY!
Not many bands could conceive of building an album around the twin poles of family breakdown and astronomer Johannes Kepler's tonal theory of the planets. Even fewer, at least not since the heyday of prog rock, would dare attempt to record such a thing.
But that's precisely what the Receiving End of Sirens have done on their sophomore set, The Earth Sing Mi Fa Mi. The title refers to Kepler's hypothesis that Earth's tonal signature would shift back and forth in orbit, with the dark suggestion that those tones -- "mi, fa, ma" on the scale -- stood for misery and famine.
The Receiving End Of Sirens: Alex Bars (guitars); Nate Patterson, Brian Southall (glockenspiel); Brendan Brown (bass guitar); Andrew Cook (drums). Additional personnel: Heather Stebbins, Jessica Clough (strings).
So, if you would like to win one of these new CDs and you think you know all there is to know about the band, just answer this easy question: The band formed in 2003. In May of 2006, Casey Crescenzo parted ways with the band and started pursuing his side project fulltime ... but what is the name of that side project band?!
Send us your answers and if you're correct you'll be in the running to win one of these wonderful new CDs! Just send us an e:mail here before September 15th with your answer and the subject title CONTEST: SIRENS CDs to: exclusivemagazine@flash.net
