The Muckrakers have a pleasing sound and Front of the Parade is full of catchy, foot-tapping tunes that will stay with you. On the album, the band (which hails from Louisville, KY) plays it relatively safe. They’ve comfortably situated themselves among the Adult Alternative genre set.

The musicianship and vocal parts are strong throughout, though it must be said that the songs tend to write themselves after a while. “Breathe In, Breath Out,” “Hold On,” and many others move along briskly, and all contain choruses full of verve and sway. So , Front of the Parade exhibits the Muckraker’s potential as a strong one and means that this is definitely a CD to purchase soon.
