There are two types of albums in this world: risky releases and safe releases. Trustcompany's True Parallels, long delayed by their label since early 2004, might actually fall into both categories. Fans of the band will note that True Parallels keeps the same hard-edged rock sound that the band offered on their previous album, with the odd acoustic track thrown in near the end.

The band continues to rely on strong choruses to push their songs along, and no song goes over the 4-minute mark, keeping the album at a fast pace. Lyrics are kept to universal levels, only suggesting stances on basic issues for the everyday person. Everything about True Parallels is therefore safe for the band, because they stick to what has worked for them in the past and what will obviously work for them once again now.
