'Follow The Ragged Road'!
Premiering on Monday, September 29, the new Ragged Road web series by Macy’s lifestyle brand American Rag follows five ambitious young adults searching for their music industry break. Beginning their 18-day 5,000-mile journey in New York City at a Teen Vogue photo shoot, the series chronicles the group’s experiences over 10 episodes that will air twice a week.
With music interests ranging from performing to producing, the cast members - Janelle, Rian, Derek, Jessica and Laura – have traveled to nine cities to visit famous locales and historic venues, including Warner Bros. Records and Universal Music Publishing in L.A., Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and New Orleans’ Musicians Village. From spending time with well-known musicians Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and Of A Revolution (aka O. A. R.) to production group Blackout Movement, the group had the opportunity to meet with significant industry players and discuss their achievements, challenges and successes, and learn more about what it takes to make it in the business.
“We have been truly impressed with the ambition, talent and drive exhibited by each of the Ragged Roaders throughout their national tour and are excited to bring their experience to the world via YouTube, ” said Nancy Slavin, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Macy's Merchandising Group. “The internet continues to be an excellent social forum for the American Rag customer, and we think that it is the perfect medium for this groundbreaking fashion-meets-music series."
Fans of Ragged Road can stay up-to-date on the cast’s whereabouts, see favorite moments along the trip, and watch them experience true life on the road at the dedicated American Rag YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/raggedroad, which will air new episodes on Mondays and Wednesdays. This site will also feature cast and style profiles that highlight the latest trends from American Rag.
Please take part in this new online experience as we help each of these five individuals realize their dreams and help us spread the word about it!
