'Dredd'
(Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, et al / NR / 92 mins)

Overview: A feared urban cop takes on a vicious city drug dealer in a futuristic metropolis as director Pete Travis (Vantage Point) and screenwriter Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine) team to bring iconic 2000A.D. lawman Judge Dredd to the big screen.

Verdict: I'm glad I went to see this movie with an open mind. I loved the original Judge Dredd and this was NOTHING like it. I really enjoyed Karl Urban in the role of Dredd, but I really like him. The plot itself just wasn't there. It had some much potential at so many different times, it just never reached it.

*SPOILER* Pretty much a rookie judge and Dredd get trapped in a building where all the gang members are trying to kill them. That's it... there isn't much else to the plot. There is shooting up of the bad guys but even that wasn't out of this world.

My suggestion would be to wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it, there just wasn't enough there to spend the money on going to the theater.
